I Hate Dogs and I Am Not a Horrible Human Being
'Dogs Change Our Lives' - Man Launches Photography Business
A NEW photography service in Dorset offering photoshoots of man's best friend is Daily Echo's Trader of the Week.
Alex Harwood, a Bournemouth University student, has created a new dog photography company in Winton.
Instead of owning a studio, Alex travels to clients' homes to take photos of their four-legged friends.
The talented photographer lives with his girlfriend and their two-year-old maltipoo.
Alex said: "I have the attitude that I would rather jump in headfirst than sit there in the endless abyss of analysis paralysis.
"I wanted to present an offer for everyone to enjoy, no matter their socio-economic background.
"We all deserve to have access to a beautiful photo of our furry friends, a photo we can cherish for years to come.
"Dog photography is so overlooked.
"Anyone who owns a dog knows how much they change our lives, they are the shoulder you lean on when you are down, and there are the ones that don't care what job you have, how big your house is, and especially how much money you make, as I quote from Marley and me… "Give him your heart, and he will give you his.'"
"Dogs change our lives, we all love them, and sometimes seeing that one photo of them will always put a smile on your face every time you pass it. Also, I love dogs."
Alex also admitted his business isn't always as smooth sailing as some may think, he added: "Never underestimate how difficult it can be getting a great photo of our furry friends, especially when birds are around."
Speaking on the style of photography, he added: "I want to take a warm autumnal approach to dog photography, in my opinion, autumn is the most beautiful season, visually anyway.
"I think it gives off a beautiful look and the warm tones bring out the happiness in all of us."
Speaking about plans for the future, Alex said: "I don't have a website at the moment but it's definitely something on the list, so after I've dealt with the majority of customers generated from my advertisements on Facebook, I'll start creating the professional logos and website."
The new pet photography business is proving a success with residents of Bournemouth as there are already over 100 requests to use Alex's services.
