These Adorable Small Dogs Are Just the Right Size for Your Family
KCAS Pets Of The Week: Misha And West
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — This week's featured adoptable pets from the Kent County Animal Shelter are two lovable dogs that have been waiting a while to find their forever homes.
Misha is a 6-year-old American Staffordshire terrier that has been at the shelter for two years. The shelter said that she stays in the office space, which is less stressful than the kennels.
She enjoys going out with volunteers at the shelter and riding in the car. This playful girl loves to keep her bed area clean with the exception of the toys she likes to keep nearby. She is potty trained and would do best and the only animal in the home. While she waits for her forever home, the shelter is also looking for a foster family to take her in.

West is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire terrier that is currently living with a foster family. This chill dog has been at the shelter for over a year. The shelter said that he is a social charmer and loves to meet new people.
He is well housetrained and doesn't get overly excited by lots of noise and activity.
Through the end of 2024, all dog adoptions are $50. This includes spay/neuter surgery, core vaccines including rabies, microchip heartworm test and a smart QR dog license.

American Staffordshire Terrier Puppy's Obsession With Laundry Has Everyone Falling In Love

Anyone puppy parent can tell you that sometimes puppies can be the oddest little creatures that become obsessed with the oddest things ever. Whether they are barking at nothing, stealing a random household object to play with, or barking at a household appliance some of our fur babies can behave downright strangely. That's the case with this precious foster American Staffordshire Terrier puppy that's totally obsessed with her mom's clothing dryer.
Just look at how Petunia behaves when a load is finished.
The adorable video was posted by the TikTok account for @Petuniaunleashed and no one can figure out what she actually wants in the dryer, but everyone can agree she's just about the cutest little laundry helper ever. The video caption reads, "My foster mom claims all the laundry is done, but I know better. There's always a rogue sock out there… and I'm gonna find it!"

One person commented, "Maybe she likes the warmth of blankets or her bed right out of the dryer. I don't know but she's precious!"
That could easily be the reason. Most pets are all too happy to 'help' with laundry if it means being able to be close to something soft, snuggly and warm right out of the dryer.
Someone else adds, "Tumble dry a bed time blanket for her at night, lol. We do it for our dog it is worth watching the excitement!" Dogs aren't the only pets that can appreciate a dryer-warmed blanket, because all of my cats go crazy for that too.
Another person responded, "Okay, so if this is her favorite thing to do she can move right on in because I always forget the laundry." LOL! That could be a good job for her, but then she also needs to be trained to help put it away because a lot of us have that same issue!
A few people commented that maybe it's the dryer balls she wants but her foster mama replied, "We thought it was the dryer balls too, but nope. She could care less about them."
What a silly girl she is!
In a previous video we got to witness Petunia pretty excited a load is done, and she jumps up on the dryer window to get a closer look at what is going on.
Listen, I think the name 'Petunia' is absolutely adorable for this little girl, but I see a laundry sponsorship in her future. Maybe her mama should consider a name change to 'Downy' or 'Snuggle' just to seal the deal!

Meet Patton! Patton is a handsome 70-pound, four-year-old blue American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a glossy coat that will make everyone stop and stare!
Patton is a sweet, snuggly guy who's all about belly rubs, kisses, and being your loyal shadow. Wherever you go, he'll be your constant companion – cooking in the kitchen, relaxing on the couch, or strolling through the park.
Patton does well with female dogs and loves to play, especially once he has settled into a home. He is a high-energy dog who would thrive in a home where he can get his wiggles out.
Patton is neutered, microchipped, housetrained, doesn't destroy anything in the house, and is current on his vaccines. Due to his size, he would do better in a home without small children.
